Sponsored by the federation of Quebec maple syrup producersThe results are in! Our Pure Canadian Maple syrup competition was a huge success, and was judged on Saturday 25th February 2017 at University College Birmingham. A total of 8 colleges competed in the competition, from the UK and Ireland. The competiton which was sponsored and supported by The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers saw bakery students and trainees produce products at their college and then send their entries to the venue. Our judges were David Colcombe who is the UK ambassador for the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers, and Colin Lomax our chairman of judges. Both judges were impressed by the innovation and variety of the products entered, and both commented on the amazing talent that is out there today. It was a very difficult competition to judge, as all products had fantastic elements to them. Feedback was given LIVE on our Facebook page, so if you want to see the video, then please see below, along with what the requirements were of the competition, and pictures from the day.
