Level 1-3 Bakery college course... |
Completing a bakery college course will provide you with all of the basic skills and knowledge that you will need to obtain a bakery job. It will include subjects such as Bread, Confectionery, Cake Decoration and Patisserie. You should also learn the basic technical knowledge and how ingredients work. College course start at Level 1 and run through to Level 3. After completing your college course, you should be able to obtain jobs such as baker, patisserie, cake decoration and confectioner.

Level 4-6 University course...If you want to get higher paid jobs and a career in more technical areas, you will need to complete a degree in baking. University degrees in baking are normally start from Level 4 and run through to Level 6 which is a Bachelor's Degree. Depending on the university that you choose, will depend on the degree you will achieve, as there are science degrees (BSc) and arts degrees (BA). Once you have completed your degree, the job market in the baking industry opens up much wider, meaning you can start on more money and in more technical areas within the industry, such as ingredients suppliers and technical support.
