CRAft Bakers Association funding

Everyone needs a little support from time to time and the CBA have created a student fund aimed to support you with costs of attending baking industry events, courses or work experiences. To find out more information about the CBA visit their website https://www.craftbakersassociation.co.uk/

Both the CBA and the ABST are aware that the the costs of attending events and courses can sometimes be a barrier to students and trainees, which is why we both aim to support you with costs to ensure that you can gain the invaluable experience from courses and events, without having to worry about how to afford it. If you would like to apply for funding, then please complete the below form to provide more details about the event.

    Your Information

    To apply for funding for an event, travel expenses or course, we need to ensure we know a little bit more about it so that we can ensure that we support you in the best what possible. The personal information given in this form will not be used for any other purpose other than establishing your eligibility for funding for travel from the Education Fund.
    To start off, please tell us a little bit about yourself so that we can get back in touch with you.

    Important Information
    Before you complete the CBA funding application online, please read the information below, this will give you clarity about the process.
    1. All applicants must be members of the ABST.
    2. The funding is for work experience, placement, conferences, workshops, or courses related to the baking industry. This funding is not available for the ABST student conference.
    3. The funding is for UK visits only.
    4. Each applicant who is successful and receives funding should send a short report about their placement and how the CBA has helped in this process.
    5. All receipts must be retained in a safe place until they are sent directly to the CBA.
    6. Application forms must be discussed with your tutor prior to applying for the funding.
     
    The Process
    1. The form must be completed correctly and submitted by the student /trainee on the ABST website
    2. [email protected] forwards the form to The General Secretary and the tutor Representative.
    3. The General Secretary contacts the applicant and informs them; the application has been received and explains the process.
    4. The Tutor Representative contacts the tutor/trainer specified on the application form to attain further information and endorsement.
    5. The ABST General Secretary and Tutor Representative agree a decision for continuation.
    6. The General Secretary forwards the application onto the Craft Bakers Association CBA to authorise or decline.
    7. The CBA inform ABST General Secretary of their decision.
    8. The General Secretary /CBA contacts the applicant with the decision.
    9. The applicant sends the receipts and a report regarding the placement or visit.
    10. Finance goes directly to the student from the CBA.

    Please ensure that you have read and understood the Important Information and and also the process prior to applying. If you have not already discussed your support requirements with your named tutor, then please ensure that you speak with them prior to completing the below application form.

    About the event you need some support with

    Now we just need to understand a bit more about the event that you require support with. It may be a course that you would like to attend, maybe a bakery workplace experience or travel expenses. Please tell us as much information as possible below.

    How much money will it cost?

    We would like to understand how much you think the event will cost and what you need support with. Please give an indication of what you think the cost may be. Consider the cost of travel, accommodation and meals as required.

    What next?

    When you click submit below, the information you have entered will be sent to the ABST. We will then review support you have requested and send this information to the Craft Bakers Association with our approval for them to determine how they can support you further. The ABST or CBA may get in touch with you to ask for any additional information, so please ensure that your contact details are correct above, and you have provided as much information as possible. Once you are happy, click submit below. By clicking submit below, you hereby acknowledge that the information you have provided is correct and understand that any fraudulent information will result in the application being refused and no further applications will be considered.
     
    Please note, that if you are successful then all receipts will need to be retained and sent (photographs acceptable) to the CBA, as well as a short report on your placement activities.
